At Seaford Heights Medical Centre we pride ourselves on delivering quality, comprehensive care to our patients. We hope to sustain and grow our family practice to keep our local community healthy.

Unfortunately, for many years the Medicare rebate to GP clinics in Australia has failed to keep pace with the ever increasing financial cost of running a medical practice. As a result we are no longer able to accept the Medicare rebate as full payment for consultations, which is what Bulk Billing is.

Most patients will incur an out of pocket fee. However, some patients are eligible for a discounted fee.

All consultations (Face-to-Face and equivalent Telehealth) will attract a private fee, with some exceptions.

All third party and WorkCover consultations, full payment is to be made on the day. Claim for reimbursement to be made from your employer or insurer. 

Patients who are eligible to be direct billed to Medicare.

• Children 11 years and under
• Department of Veterans (DVA) Patient

When does direct billing apply?
Chronic Disease Management Plans and Health Assessments will continue to be billed directly to Medicare.

*However, please note that any additional service provided may attract a private fee. e.g ECG.*

Medicare does not allow another consult to be billed on the same occasion as a Care Plan.

Full payment is required after your consultation, payments can be made using eftpos or credit card (Mastercard or Visa) and we will send your claim to Medicare who will rebate into your nominated bank account within 24 hours.

Please note: Due to Medicare laws, we are not able to accept the gap payment only.
